Telethon 2021: footballers Romain Faivre, Sofiane Diop and coach Habib Beye among the donors

Footballers have heart. While the Telethon was taking place last weekend, the players of the Classico Foundation (founded by the management agency Classico Sports) pledged in favor of the event which collects donations for research on rare diseases. The concept was simple: victories, goals and assists to raise the Telethon counter.

Among the players involved were Abdou and Ibrahima Diallo (PSG and Southampton), Sofiane Diop, Elliot Matazo (Monaco), Romain Faivre (Brest), Bafodé Diakité (Toulouse), or Manu Koné (Mönchengladbach). Whether or not they played last weekend, all of them had committed to pay 1,000 euros in the event of their team’s victory, and 500 euros for an assist or a goal scored. In total, 6,500 euros were collected following the concept launched by the Foundation.

Sofiane Diop’s goal and assist against Metz, coupled with the Monegasques’ 4-0 victory, brought in 2,000 euros. Romain Faivre’s penalty against OM, combined with Brest’s 2-1 success, raised an additional 1,500 euros.

In addition, the Red Star coach and Canal + consultant Habib Beye added 1,000 euros more thanks to the Audonien club’s 2-1 victory against Bourg-Péronnas in the National. Mehdi Ben Lakhdar and Taylor Lapilus, two MMA fighters also participated in this pot.
