The economic estimate of the new Sports City is currently being carried out, but given the characteristics of the project, collaboration has been requested from the president of the Higher Sports Council.
The Sports City of Murcia It will be located north of the municipality, specifically in the district of Churra, between Juan de Borbón and Reino de Murcia avenues.
The total area it will occupy is 99,700 m2, between parking areas, buildings, sports pavilions, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, 11 soccer field, 7 soccer field, multi-sports courts, paddle tennis courts, tennis courts, badminton courts, stadium and catering and nutrition center .
A great technification center
One of the main spaces of this new infrastructure will be the modernization center that will occupy some 3,000 m2 and is designed to host athletes and host National Federations in their concentrations. Its objective is to improve their times and physical form and to get users to become professional athletes.
The key is to combine training, study and rest in the same space. For this reason, it will have first-class multidisciplinary facilities, a specialized technical and medical team (doctors, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, physiotherapists, among other specialists).
Most of this building will be used for a huge gym equipped with all the necessary rooms and equipment to train all types of athletes, cardio area, toning, free weight, functional training, stretching area and circuits, among others. The building will be complemented with sauna, Turkish baths and Jacuzzi services.
The complex will also have a 2,250 m2 residence that will offer athletes all the facilities for their professional training and personal development. The residence hall has double and single rooms with private bathroom, kitchen, dining room, study room, actor’s room, games room, cinema and meeting rooms. A facility at the service of growth, coexistence, and performance improvement for both elite athletes and lower categories.
Indoor sports hall
The Sports City has a 3,600 m2 sports pavilion for gymnastics, basketball, handball, futsal, it contains rooms for karate, taekwondo and boxing, among other sports.
In addition, a covered swimming pool will be built in a building of approximately 3,600 m2 of which 1,250 m2 are intended for the pool that will be considered a competition pool with dimensions 50 m long and 25 m wide, consisting of 10 lanes of 2.50 m in width. wide, with a depth of 3 m. It is a multipurpose pool and will be used to accommodate other disciplines such as synchronized swimming.
Sports fields
In addition to the construction of a covered sports court measuring 40×25 square meters, the Ciudad Deportiva will have 4 open-air sports courts of approximately 1,000 m2 each. Users will be able to practice, among other sports, futsal, basketball and handball
Racquet sports and soccer fields
The new facilities will have specific tracks for racket sports.
Thus, 2,310 m2 will be allocated to 10 paddle tennis courts, 1,350 m2 for two tennis courts and 648 m2 for four badminton courts.

Stadium of more than 20,000 square meters

To the east of the sports city and occupying an area of 5,990 m2, an area with outdoor swimming pools and shaded and relaxing areas will be built. An outdoor pool of dimensions 50×25 m will be built.
In addition to the main pool, this area will have a small, shallow pool for people interested in starting out in swimming and a shaded and relaxing area. This area will also be equipped with changing rooms and a canteen.
Area for practicing outdoor sports and conditioning of the plot
The project also includes the urbanization of spaces between sports areas, with landscaped spaces, pedestrian paths and placement of urban furniture, approximately 15,200 m2.
This environment can be used by sports users of the Ciudad Deportiva to complement their training sessions or practice all kinds of outdoor sports.
Center for restoration and nutrition and sustainable parking
A restoration and nutrition center will also be set up where the sports pavilions are located and which will occupy a total of 1,400 m2 spread over two heights from where you can view the football fields and indoor pool while enjoying a stay in the restaurant. From the car park you will access the reception and customer service building. This property will be where both athletes and visitors will identify themselves. This building occupies 1,575 m2 on the ground floor. It will be a multipurpose property whose function will be reception, administration and customer service.
