Stops: Werge withdraws from Badminton Denmark | BT Badminton

TV 2’s football editor, Carsten Werge, has with immediate effect chosen to resign from Badminton Denmark’s main board.

Here he has had the role of elite manager.

In a press release from the association, it is stated that Carsten Werge does not find it ‘compatible with his position as chairman of Hvidovre Badminton Club’, when he has also worked as an elite manager in Badminton Denmark.

The resignation takes place from today’s date.

“I am of course sorry that Carsten has chosen to resign from the main board,” says Badminton Denmark’s chairman, Tore Vilhelmsen, in the announcement and continues:

“We have had a good and constructive collaboration and it is a pity that we do not have to continue it. On the other hand, I also respect Carsten’s decision, and I would like to thank him for his efforts over the past year and a half. Now it is about for us to find a new elite manager who has the commitment and the qualities to drive and develop the work further, “it continues.

Werge has held the post since he was elected to the board in September 2020.

For the time being, Tore Vilhelmsen will contest the post until a replacement can be found.

It will take place at a meeting of the Board of Representatives on 11 June next year.

In February, Werge stopped as a commentator at TV3 Sport after 23 years of employment to switch to TV 2, where he as football editor is responsible for the channel’s new focus on football rights.

When he took over as elite manager, it was with great ambitions.

‘Most people say they go in with humility. I dont do that. I’m going to go in with a whole lot of faith that I can do some things about. But I come in without having any agenda in advance, so I have to talk to the elite clubs, with the national coaches and the players, and when I have been all the way around, I will make a priority list of what is most important right now, It sounded then.
