Steve Kerr replaces Gregg Popovich at the head of the American selection

The American Basketball Federation made it official on Monday: Steve Kerr, triple NBA champion with the Golden Stadium Warriors during the last decade (2015, 2017, 2018), will replace Gregg Popovich at the helm of the American selection until 2024. A fairly logical succession, since Kerr was already Popovich’s deputy in recent years, especially during the Olympic Games won last summer in Tokyo.

Three assistants to support him

The new coach will be supported by three assistants: Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams and Gonzaga varsity coach Mark Few. Its main objectives will be the 2023 World Cup in Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines, and of course the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
