The commissioner Elena Proietti draws up a balance sheet for 2021, recalling the initiatives held and those postponed, focusing attention on the Rai New Year and the possible events of 2022, pandemic permitting: “The epidemiological trend has certainly brought a lot of uncertainty, from one point view of the organization of events, but not only. In this colder period, infections have started to increase again. During 2021, some traditional events, such as the Valentine’s Day Marathon, have been postponed. We hope that a definitive recovery can finally occur ”.
There are several critical issues: “From a purely infrastructural point of view, these have emerged. In terms of usability, as was the case of the Campomaggiore gym and management, due to the lack of staff. We have been able to overcome them, making resources available to support the various realities involved, through the adoption of tenders also deriving from the Recovery funds “.
The period dictated by the limitations has led to problems for the various companies that gravitate within the territory: “Living on the shares, when the activities have been suspended, then the revenues are also reduced. Starting again after a year and a half is not at all easy. It should also be emphasized that there is a pinch of fear on the part of parents in letting their children carry out the various disciplines, especially in closed places “. The scenarios for 2022: “We will welcome back the Tirreno-Adriatico with an arrival and a departure, from the Marmore Falls. The marathons will return, we will host the Archery World Championships and we are working to bring the Mille Miglia back to the city ”.
A few months ago Elena Proietti acquired the responsibility for tourism: “The results are certainly encouraging. Thanks to ‘The coming year’ the hotels are full. There is great excitement and anticipation. The Rai New Year has certainly helped, from a seasonal adjustment point of view. I tried to focus on promoting the area by focusing everything on the analysis of flows and targeting, conveying outdoor sports. For next year I would like to participate in two further fairs – Berlin and Milan – in addition to that of Rimini. It is essential to create synergies with the other municipalities in the Terni area to proceed united and cohesive “.
