Spanish football stadiums can only be filled for 75 percent | Primera Division

In Spain, football stadiums are only allowed to receive 75 percent of the maximum number of spectators. This was decided by the Spanish government on Wednesday.

With this decision, the government is responding to the rapidly increasing number of infections with the omikron variant of the coronavirus in Spain. Until now, there was no limit to the number of spectators at outdoor sports competitions. For indoor sports, the maximum capacity goes from 80 to 50 percent.

Spanish clubs are also affected by the pandemic. Real Madrid announced on Wednesday that 4 players have been infected, including goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Barcelona has 7 infected players in the ranks, Real Sociedad 10 , Cadiz 5 and Mallorca 4.
