Sneakers & Trucks, an event that seeks to donate tennis to associations

Mexico City /

The fourth quote from Sneakers & Trucks in which thousands of collectors and people in general gather to donate their sneakers and tennis for all those who need it most, will take place in the Plaza de Toros México.

“The idea is that, to return a little bit of what tennis has given us and to be socially responsible because the reality is that we as collectors suddenly accumulate and accumulate and there are some pairs that still have very good quality, they still have a good time of life ”, explained Iván Calderón, one of the event organizers, in an interview with M2.

After a strict cleaning process, representatives of Sneakers & Trucks will be in charge of delivering all the shoes collected to various civil associations that in turn will distribute them to family homes, nursing homes and public aid centers.

“What we did was try to return that grain of sand to society and be that vehicle that can bring together the pairs that still have life,” added Calderón.

Although it is the shorter-range (or Christmas) version of Sneaker Fever, this event seeks to be eye-catching and entertaining for all attendees. That is why, in addition to the social focus, for this edition they will present an important number of “food trucks” (more than 7) with a great variety of gastronomic options.

“We wanted to do something, but take great care of the capacity, the contingency and the flow of people. We are expecting between 1,500 and 2,000 people throughout the day, ”he said.

And in anticipation of harvesting, he explained: “The reality is that there is no number, we have never plotted an amount. We understand that we have been coming out of a pandemic, we have not yet come out, but the economic recovery has been slow, so we did not set a minimum rate either, but we hope that between 300 and 400 pairs will reach us, which is the average that has reached us. in past editions ”.

That’s how, taking advantage of the December celebrations, Sneaker Fever decided to take into account the sanitary traffic light from Mexico City to open this collection in the Plaza de Toros.

During the telephone interview, Ivan Calderón stressed that it is imperative to clarify that although Sneakers & Trucks takes place inside the square this does not mean that they are in favor of or in any way related to bullfights, they simply considered that the enclosure is a building of cultural relevance, in the open air and that it has the ideal infrastructure for the realization of the event.

All interested parties were invited to donate as many pairs as possible, of any size, for children and adults. They will only be checked that they are in good condition and clean. The accesses, which have a cost of $ 110.00 pesos, can be purchased through the official website of Sneaker Fever and through their social networks.
