Seven teams, five from AFC and NFC, can qualify for playoffs in week 17

After a day where five teams, four of the NFC and one from the AFC, tied their ticket to the postseason, week 16 promises up to seven new playoff guests who could drop just one pass, in the American Conference, available on the end date of the regular season.

What’s more, Chiefs Y Packers they are a number of combinations away from tying up first place in their respective lectures. In the case of KC, they just need the Titans not to win and for Green Bay, they require losses of the three division leaders in the NFC ─Dallas, Tampa Bay and Los Angeles.

AFC

In the American Conference only the Chiefs are assured of their presence in the knockout phase. Bills can be added to the list and there are nine different combinations that deliver the ticket.

If the Bills win, they only require the Ravens or Chargers and Raiders not to win to qualify.. If a tie occurs against the Falcons, the situation is complicated for Sean McDermott’s club since in addition to the equalizer it is needed:

  • Miami defeat or draw, Los Angeles defeat, Las Vegas defeat.
  • Miami loss or tie, Los Angeles loss or tie, Baltimore loss, Pittsburgh loss or tie.
  • Miami loss or tie, Raiders loss or tie, Baltimore loss, Pittsburgh loss or tie.
  • New England defeat or draw, Los Angeles defeat, Las Vegas defeat.
  • Beat New England draw, beat Los Angeles draw, beat Baltimore, beat Pittsburgh draw.
  • New England loss or draw, Las Vegas loss, Baltimore loss, Pittsburgh loss or draw.
  • Los Angeles loss, Las Vegas loss, Baltimore loss, Pittsburgh loss or draw.

The case of the Bengals is simpler. The AFC North crown goes to Cincinnati for the first time since 2015 with a win. Another scenario is a tie, accompanied by the Ravens not winning; or Baltimore lose and the Steelers and Browns call.

The ticket can arrive by another route. If the Bengals call, they require the Chargers to stumble, the Raiders not to win and a series of draws involving the Dolphins, Patriots and Bills to qualify.

The Colts would join the playoffs by beating the Raiders. The loss does not serve Indianapolis, who at least need the draw and defeat of Baltimore, in addition to the Patriots or Dolphins not winning, to pass the round.

Los Patriots they accumulate two losses in a row, but they can return to the playoffs with a victory over the Jaguars and a draw or loss of the Dolphins or Raiders. In the event of an unlikely draw against Jacksonville, Miami or Las Vegas they must be overcome; accompanied by results involving the Raiders, Chargers, Ravens and Steelers.

The account is closed with the Titans, who get the divisional title beating the Dolphins. A loss for the Colts or a draw for both clubs also helps. Other combinations that help are: defeat or draw of Chargers and Ravens or Patriots; Or that Baltimore and New England don’t win.

NFC

At the National Conference, only two clubs aspire to playoffs And if they qualify, all seven guests on the NFC will be confirmed.

The Eagles may return to the postseason after two seasons of absence if they beat Washington and Minnesota and New Orleans or San Francisco they don’t win. In the event that Philadelphia matches the WFT, they require losses from Vikings, Saints, Falcons and 49ers.

The “Niners” they join the fight and they just require a win over Houston and the Saints not winning. In case Houston snatches the tie, Vikings and Falcons equalizers and New Orleans stumble seal their ticket.

Finally, Qualified Rams May Dethrone Seahawks in NFC West with victory over the Ravens, accompanied by a draw or defeat by the Cardinals.
