Sara Terán, from León, obtains the 6th Dan in judo

At the headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee and with the assistance of Alejandro Blanco Bravo (President of the COE) and Juan Carlos Barcos Nagore (President of the Royal Spanish Federation of Judo and DA), the annual Judo Gala was held to reward successes obtained by Spanish judokas in the last two years, since last year’s Covid 19 could not be celebrated.

Sara Terán, from León, was invited to receive a very special award, the 6th Dan red and white belt, being the first athlete from León to obtain this degree, from the RFEJYDA.

His story

Sara, practically, took her first steps on a tatami, her parents, both black belts of Judo, started her in this sport, in which from a very young age she was standing out in competition and where, had it not been for a respiratory ailment, she would have gone very far , since in several championships in Spain, he played until the semifinals, but since the last round was very followed, he had to withdraw due to lack of oxygenation.

In the field of education, from a very young age, when she obtained the title of monitor that authorized her to teach, she collaborated with her club in the dissemination of judo in different schools. She was obtaining the different degrees until obtaining the certificate of National Master Trainer in Judo and Personal Defense.

Kyoto

For several years, she acted as a selector for the Castilla y León teams, directing training sessions and traveling with the teams to compete throughout the national territory, obtaining excellent results.

In the last stage he has focused on the management of the Kyoto Club, where despite the difficulties derived from the pandemic, teaching continues with great success, expanding the dissemination of this sport to several schools. All this aided by other monitors makes Judo known through Kyoto, where there is all the guarantee of learning and promotion of belts with the support of the Judo Federation of Castilla y León and therefore the National.
