Angelo Palumbo (photo) is San Marino Baseball’s Christmas gift. Italian-Venezuelan right pitcher native of Maracaibo, 26 years old on 10 November, Palumbo is a pitcher already known in the Belpaese thanks to his past in Bolzano first and then in Bologna. A player who only three months ago wore the blue jersey at the European championships which took place in Piedmont. For him, in the 2021 Serie A championship, more than interesting statistics: the roster speaks of a record of 6 wins and zero defeats, with an average pgl of 1.71. In Venezuela he had played with the Cardenales de Aragua and the Tigres de Lara, while in the States he had been signed by the Baltimore Orioles organization, which had turned him in the Rookie League. Pure experiences in the Dominican summer league and in Germany, the team is that of the Bad Homburg Hornets. And now San Marino, a reality that in 2022 will have to defend the Scudetto that is pinned on the shirts. “I am really happy to be here – admits Palumbo -.
