Latvian toboggan athlete Riks Kristens Rozītis won the first place in the Nations Cup on the Winterberg track in Germany on Friday, but Artūrs Dārznieks took the third place.
Rozitis, who started with the ninth number, completed the track in 52,892 seconds. In second place was the Italian athlete Leon Felderer, who gave in to Rozitis for only 0.002 seconds.
The gardener, who went fourth on the track, finished in 52,903 seconds and conceded to his compatriot in 0.011 seconds.
Sigita Bērziņa and Elīna Ieva Vītola will also compete for the place in the main competition.
The other athletes have won a place in the strongest group for the last three World Cup stages. The strongest in the group are 12 ladies, 15 men and 12 double crews.
