Rookies, in the first places since its inception

CEvery year that passes allows us to see new talents, athletes who are just beginning to take their first ‘steps’ and are already showing conditions that allow us to think about an auspicious future.

Athletes who come from a process and who from their first performances are showing results and confirm that they are up for great things, because in addition to their innate talent, they add discipline and perseverance, which are the mix that makes them champions.

For these athletes, who in a short time show that they have the skills to become the champions of the future and who fight for the first places very early, the objective is to stay on top and in a short time assume the ‘reign’ in their activities.

For those athletes who are new and continually advancing in their level of competition, an award is reserved at the Athlete of the Year – Vanguard 2021 proclamation and exaltation ceremony, Best Rookie Athlete.

The nominees are: María José Poloche (judo), Juan Pablo Niño (squash), Kéiner Sánchez (judo), Reinaldo Delgado (athletics) and Héctor Morales (canoeing).

Maria Jose Poloche

National champion of phase 3 and 4 of the PAD program of the Ministry of Sports, in the sub 13 category. National runner-up in the sub 13 category in Bogotá. Bronze medal at the Under 13 Pan American Championship in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Bronze medal at the U13 Pan American Cup in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Juan Pablo Child

It confirms that it is one of the promises of squash Santander, with outstanding achievements in different championships. Reinaldo Delgado

Under 20 National Champion in 3,000 m Obstacles, in Barrancabermeja. Bronze medal sub 20 – 1,500 m flat, in Barrancabermeja. Under 23 National Champion – 3,000 m Obstacles, in Bogotá. He is part of the Colombian National Team and competed in international events such as the Pan American Games. He is eighth in the South American sub-23 category.

Hector Morales

National Champion in Paipa – Boyacá, in the junior category in the distances C1- 1,000m, 500m, 200m, 5km, C2-200m. Champion of the 2021 Bogotá Grand Prix, junior category in distances C1- 500m, 200m. Selective Control Champion Guatapé, Antioquia, junior category in distances C1- 1,000m, 500m, 200m. He is part of the Colombia National Team.
