Report: Bavaria deals with BVB shooting star Jude Bellingham!

It’s an open secret that Bayern have tried to attract England youngster Jude Bellingham in the past. However, the midfielder decided to move to league rivals Borussia Dortmund in summer 2020. According to current media reports, however, the 18-year-old top talent is still on Munich’s wish list.

Due to the better sporting perspective, Bellingham moved to BVB almost 1.5 years ago and gave FCB a basket. As the “BILD Zeitung” reports, however, the Bavarians’ interest has by no means waned. Accordingly, they are still interested in the English international at Säbener Strasse.

Bayern definitely have a need in the midfield

With a view to the current squad structure and the personnel options, Munich definitely needs a new player in the central midfield. Corentin Tolisso is only contractually bound to the record champions until the end of the season and is about to say goodbye next summer. Marc Roca could not convince sportily and is also allowed to leave the club early and could do so in winter. New entry Marcel Sabitzer has so far fallen well short of expectations. The Austrian has had very mixed performances since moving from Leipzig and plays anything but a major role under Julian Nagelsmann. In plain language: behind the regular duo Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, FC Bayern lacks quality alternatives.

BVB do not want to give up Bellingham

The problem, however, is that Bellingham is still contractually bound to BVB until 2025. According to reports, unlike Erling Haaland, he has no release clause. The Dortmunders have to agree to an early departure. As of today, there is absolutely no reason why the black and yellow should let their top performers move to a direct competitor, of all places. Especially not if Haaland should leave the club at the end of the season.

But it is also clear: As with many other players in the past (Götze, Pulisic, Sancho etc.), Bellingham will sooner or later be willing to take the next career step. Even if this will probably not be the case in summer 2022, the English could still become a serious topic on the Isar in the future.
