After about two years from the forced stop due to the pandemic, the 2021/2022 sports season of CSI Reggio Calabria has started. The Committee, after a long and expensive work by the renewed Basketball Commission, is proud to re-propose the Provincial phase of the CSI National Basketball Championship. The CSI sports competition aims to give a strong signal to restart the whole movement, conveying the charisma and values of the CSI family! Nine teams ready to battle for the final victory and access to one of the national stages.
Fortitudo Pellaro, Magic and Evergreen are among the veterans of the CSI tournament, three historical groups that will present themselves at the starting line with the desire to give continuity to their realities, which have been active in the area for years. To them are added the returns of two historical realities of Reggio’s basketball such as Diego Viglianisi’s Basket Pellaro and Salvatore Versace’s Villa San Giovanni. Parallel to the expensive championship of C Gold there will also be a representation of the VIS, with the duo Barilà-Di Bernardo ready to take off their managerial clothes to wear the game tank top again. Confirmations but not only. The “Mediterranea” University will return to the field, a team born from the will of the University of Reggio Calabria to develop important sports projects to complement the didactic ones. The major innovations, however, are represented by the new realities of Palmi and Diabaino Gioia Tauro Basketball.
Protagonists known to the minors, interesting young people and managers who year after year show their desire to continue playing sports. The CSI Provincial championship restarts with many prominent elements and the desire to reverberate the sport, through basketball.
A very renewed group of referees will direct the many matches scheduled. Their availability and competence will be at the service of the teams, but also of the young referees who are preparing to embark on a new experience. First duo ball Tuesday 7 December with the Pellaro derby on stage at PalaColor, Thursday 9 space at Magic-Evergreen while on Friday the VIS will take the field in Palmi. Saturday at 17.00 the agra between Gioia Tauro and Mediterranea will conclude a first day in which Villa San Giovanni will observe a rest shift. Parallel to the sporting path, Csi training activities are also starting. Basketball coaches course, course for the use of the defibrillator and, from 14 December, the course for sports educator in disability.
