Railroad stumbled in San Roque

Ferroviario took a wrong step yesterday losing his undefeated in the Federal Amateur Regional Tournament (Trfa). The capital’s team fell 2-1 to Defensores de San Roque in the first leg for the second elimination round of the North Coast region, a result that forces them to win at home in the rematch to be played on Wednesday at their home court.

The Green Train came out to impose conditions from the beginning, and in the first clear arrival it took the lead on the scoreboard. Canteros made an effort to cover a great shot from Insaurralde, but the rebound was left to Kuchak, who “popped” the ball into the net.

The reaction of the Sanroqueño team was immediate. Amarilla tried with a shot that went wide, and after a while, a corner kick from Fleita Miérez found the head of Villán -the afternoon’s player- and when the local tribune was about to shout the tie, the ball deflected after hit the leg of a defender from Corrientes.

In another offensive action by Villán, Defensores would reach equality. The forward took a shot that gave the extended arm of a rival, and the referee Ojeda did not hesitate to collect the maximum penalty. Villán himself was in charge of executing the penalty to beat Aranda’s stretch.

The match was made back and forth, but the one that struck again was Defenders. Villán dropped with a tremendous header after a cross from Fleita Miérez to put his team in front.

Back from halftime, everything was from Ferroviario, who took control of the ball and at times did not let the Sanroqueño team cross the middle of the field, which only managed to defend itself. Insaurralde was close to achieving equality with a very strong shot from outside the area that surprised Coronel, returning the ball to the base of the right vertical.

Montiel was also close on a stopped ball, but his shot was covered by the local goalkeeper at the corner kick. Immediately, Amarilla committed a penalty, taking charge of the execution from Cesarini’s twelve steps, but Coronel did not move from the middle of the arc, deflecting the defender’s shot with his legs.

After half an hour, Defensores was able to extend the lead through some counterattacks. Aranda covered the third to Villán, and a shot from Giménez in injury time, and with the goalkeeper ahead, he went just above the horizontal.

Ferroviario became cloudy with the passing of the minutes, mainly after the missed penalty, lacking clarity to achieve equality.

After more than 8 minutes of added time, the Mercedeño referee lowered the curtain on the game, which marked a narrow victory for Defensores, who became strong in San Roque and who will go to the capital of Corrientes on Wednesday.

Victoria won

Victoria achieved a triumph in Posadas, beating Miter by 2 to 0, a result that allows her to calmly await the rematch to be played on Wednesday in Curuzú Cuatiá.

Those led by Penizzotto prevailed with goals scored in the first half by Federico Cóceres and Carlos García, to later defend their advantage with trade.

“Comu” fell

Comunicaciones could not in his stadium with Guaraní Antonio Franco, who defeated him 2-0 in the first leg played in Mercedes. After a first half without opening the scoreboard, the missionary “strip” was able to unbalance in the complement, through goals converted by the endless Pablo Motta and the entered, Brian Domínguez.

It should be remembered that the key that San Jorge and Juventud de Puerto Tirol had to play was postponed by the Federal Council, considering that the capital’s squad is isolated by close contact, after playing last Tuesday against Lavalle’s Cannonball, which registered an outbreak of covid in players and relatives.
