The department presented a brand to face the contest

The department of Quindío wants to make the best Paranationals in history, which is why it is already advancing in efforts in the organizing process of the jousts that were presented yesterday in an act that was held in the Bolívar square in Armenia.

The VI Paranational Sports Games Eje Cafetero 2023, which will be held in the department, will be a party that already seeks to attract the attention of Quindians. He shared with them yesterday at the meeting that the Minister of Sports, Guillermo Herrera, could not attend, and appreciated the effort made by Quindío, as it will be the only headquarters of the Paranationals.

In the square, against rivals like Diego Cortés, the former professional tennis player had fun doing what she likes the most, playing tennis. Cortés, for his part, listened to his advice, which he will put into practice in the contest in which he will aim for the gold medal in wheelchair tennis.

In the jousts, the champions will be defined in 9 disciplines: Para-athletics, 5-a-side football, futsal, visual judo, auditory futsal, cognitive futsal, quarugby, parabolos and sitting volleyball, and 900 people from different parts of the country will come to the department. Among the local figures, the presence of the bowling pin David Rivera and the judoka Camilo Orozco stand out.

‘Heart of gold’

The event made the official launch of the ‘Quindío Corazón de Oro’ brand. The governor declared: “This is the high point of a project that began in this administration and whose main goal is to put athletes back in the place of honor in which they deserve to be. When we started our government, we saw that many of our stars had gone to other departments in search of support and others were sinking without knowing what to do: at that time, with the leadership of Fernando Paneso, manager of Indeportes, and his team of work, the Lifeguard strategy was born ”.

He added: “With Salvavidas, we welcomed them and gave them financial and biomedical support. We repatriated many of those who had left and gave them their place. Thanks to this, we will end the year with 60 Lifeguard athletes, of which 21 were quindianized and requindianized”.

Meanwhile, Paneso explained: “Quindío Corazón de Oro is the brand with which the department will arrive at the National and Paranational Games, because here in the ‘Heart of Colombia’ sports beats and our stars will fight for gold medals or for stand on the steps of the podium. This initiative was born to generate positioning and impact of our department as a sports reference. Its logo is a gold medal, which is united, amalgamated with the ‘Heart of Colombia’ ”.

A high investment

At the meeting, Paneso stressed that “so far in 2021, the general investment in competitive sports has been $ 1.9 billion.” In infrastructure, the sectional administration has prioritized the construction of the Multisport Coliseum –weights, combat sports and badminton, among others– and the biomedical center, with an investment of $ 32,000 million, and the Aquatic Complex –2 pools of 50 and 25 meters of 10 lanes for sports such as racing swimming, synchronized swimming and triathlon-, with an investment of $ 17,000 million, plus $ 1,316 million for studies and designs . The investment in Quindío will be $ 51,000 million, the government will put: $ 33,000 million and Mindeporte $ 18,000 million. Armenia will contribute a budget of $ 20,000 million, as announced by Mayor José Manuel Ríos Morales, whose great challenge is the construction of the Public Bowling Alley and the BMX track.
