Strengthened by the victory against Mantua, the Apu, now in second place in the standings, will face Urania Milan on Saturday at 20.30.

With Antonutti still out (the Captain’s recovery is scheduled for late January) the Friulians will face off against a team now in mid-table and just back from a 67-68 defeat against Casale Monferrato.

Let’s go through the numbers of Milan:

81 are the points that Urania has conceded on average every game to its opponents, a figure that qualifies the Lombard as the worst defense of the championship. Udine, on the other hand, makes defense its strong point, currently counting as the best with 68.7 points granted per match.

An average of 23 successful baskets from two of Milan with a 53% of effectiveness. Urania knows how to play well inside the area, in fact in these two statistics she is the leader of A2. The APU, on the other hand, is the worst team in terms of number of attempts and percentages (17 successful shots from two on average with 47% effectiveness).

18.9 is the points average of Aaron Thomas, shooting guard from Milan who is the best shooter of the team and the third for the entire series. He will be the special observer of the Udine defense, which will also have to stop the initiatives of Matteo Montano, skilled play with 14.5 average scores with 3.9 assists.

It therefore promises a clash that in attack could find its developments from heavy shooting. If on the one hand Milan is effective in the middle of the area, Udine will do everything to stop, perhaps moving the shooting range of the Lombards out of the arc.

So maybe a three-man shooting challenge will light up for the two teams? We’ll see, it could be an opportunity for the APU shooters to further demonstrate their flair.

The APU is in fact maintaining very respectable three-point shooting percentages: the citizens of Udine are in second place with 37% effectiveness, with an average of 24 attempts, an average similar to Milan but spoiled by a 23 % of achievements. Could this be a possible key solution that will determine the development of the match?
