Premier League: Klopp beats Liverpool legend, Ronaldo redeems Rangnick – football

The present beats the past and the future!

Liverpool with coach Jürgen Klopp (54) wins 1-0 with a penalty from Mohamed Salah (29/67th minute) against Aston Villa. The win keeps the Reds second in the Premier League behind Manchester City. For many fans, however, the result is only marginal …

Liverpool sees the return of THE club legend – with their opponents!

As the coach of Villa, Steven Gerrard (41) is on the wrong side of Anfield for the first time. As a player he wore the Reds jersey 710 times, won the Champions League (2005), twice the FA Cup, three times the League Cup and the Uefa Cup with Liverpool.

For many fans it has long been clear: Gerrard will one day coach Liverpool.

Even for the current Reds coach Klopp, this is only a matter of time. When asked if Gerrard will follow in his footsteps, he says, “Oh yes, I think so, absolutely.”

Five-goal madness at Chelsea!

Third in the table beats Leeds United 3-2 – also because national player Antonio Rüdiger (28) won two (!) Penalties. Jorginho transforms the decisive one (as well as the first) in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

But the Blues struggled for a long time, initially falling behind at Stamford Bridge due to a penalty from Raphinha (28th). Mason Mount (42.) and Jorginho (58.) with a penalty kick turned the game around before Joe Gelhardt (83.) scored the equalizer for Leeds.

When everything looked like a draw, Rüdiger took the third penalty that day, which Jorginho (90 + 4) converted to a late victory. This means that Chelsea stays with the top duo Manchester City and Liverpool.

Ronaldo makes Rangnick cheer!

Manchester United also wins the second Premier League game under the new coach Ralf Rangnick (63). As on the previous matchday against Crystal Palace (1-0), the Red Devils also had one goal to win in Norwich.

Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 75th minute, after he had previously been fouled, to a narrow victory on Carrow Road.

The hosts had some good chances themselves, but were not efficient enough and were punished for it shortly before the end of the game.

With the win, United moved up to fifth, but the gap to the top of the table is still eleven points.
