UV disinfection according to DVGW worksheets W 293 and W 294 allows safe disinfection without the addition of chemicals and without altering the constituents of the water. The prerequisite for effective treatment is clear water with low absorption in the relevant UV range. Therefore, prior treatment measures are usually necessary. To obtain quality drinking water, UV disinfection systems approved by DVGW or ÖNORM must be used.
