Porziņģis’ return to the square is questionable; Mavericks without seven players due to Covid-19 protocol

The Dallas unit is due to host the NBA champions Milwaukee “Bucks” on its field on Thursday (Friday at 3.30pm Latvian time).

Porziņģis was injured in his right foot on Sunday, due to which he did not take part in the match that took place on Tuesday. His participation in Thursday’s match is also under question.

Meanwhile, seven more Mavericks basketball players, including team star Luka Dončič, will not be able to play due to the Covid-19 protocol.

Dončič has not played in the last five games due to an injury to his ankle, but it was hoped that the Slovenian would return to the field on Thursday.

As early as Wednesday, it was known that Dončič, Tracy Berk, who was the only Mavericks basketball player not vaccinated, Reggio Balock, Tim Harvard Jr., Josh Green and Max Maxler would not go to the court due to the Covid-19 protocol.

They were joined on Thursday by Jacques McLoglin, ESPN viewer Tim McMonon said.

Eugene Omoruji will not be able to play against the Bucks due to injury, but will not be played by Willie Collie-Stein for personal reasons.

Teams can sign ten-day contracts with other basketball players to replace players who cannot play due to the Covid-19 protocol. The Mavericks have signed such agreements with six players.

The Mavericks ranked eighth in the Western Conference with 15 wins and 15 losses.
