No one is afraid of the Lakers. Quite the contrary. You have these young teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, the Utah Jazz or the Phoenix Suns – even if they have Chris Paul – who don’t back down when it comes to facing the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, they can’t wait to play the Lakers! They assume this role of wanting to bring them down!
According to Perk, it is therefore up to the Purple & Gold to become aware of this new situation, and to learn from it so as not to concede any more setbacks in the face of teams considered inferior.
The Lakers need to realize they have a target on their backs, even if they’re not champions. They are the team to beat because of the hype they get, and because they have all these stars and a big squad.
Despite the frightening cumulative record they present, the Lakers would not pose a serious threat to the franchises they face. A paradox that is verified in their results, and that Kendrick Perkins advises them to quickly assimilate!
