NFL in Europe: the city of Munich officially candidate, decision in February

In October, the NFL announced that Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Munich had been selected to move on to the “application phase” to host an NFL game.

Fortunately, it just so happens that one of the cities in question is interested. On Wednesday, the city of Munich supported a candidacy for the organization of a regular season meeting at the Allianz Arena, the home stadium of Bayern Munich.

The city’s Olympic Stadium also meets NFL criteria, but it cannot be used due to upcoming renovations.

More specifically, it was the idea of hosting matches from 2022 to 2025 that was supported.

The decision is expected to be made public around the time of the Super Bowl in February.
