Raonic is struggling with an Achilles heel injury that limited him to 12 duels in 2021. Thus, he will not be athletes participating in the first grand slam of 2022, scheduled for January.

The former world number 3 played his last game at the end of July as part of the Atlanta tournament. He lost 5-7, 6-3 and 7-6 (4) against American Brandon Nakashima.

In addition, Novak Djokovic, the world’s first racket, and Rafael Nadal (sixth) have still not confirmed their presence in Australia.
