Mexico reaches one hundred medals in Junior Pan American Games

MEXICO CITY

The Mexican delegation is the first country to achieve 100 medals in the first edition of the Junior Pan American Games held in Cali, Colombia.

Mexico reached 100 medals in the fair that is held from November 25 to December 5, this historic performance was achieved with the metal won by Diego Yael Macías, a Greco-Roman wrestling in the -77 kg category.

Throughout 8 days the Mexican delegation has won 29 gold medals so far, 48 silver and 23 bronze.

Mexico was crowned in Archery, winning 6 gold and two silver metals, in terms of diving, 8 medals were achieved, 4 gold, 3 silver and a bronze, in swimming so far 12 metals have been harvested, boating 11, in Weightlifting 7, taekwondo 5, these and other sports, Mexico becomes a youth benchmark.

The first gold medal was obtained by Isabel Aburto Romero, the silver by Gustabo Adrián Eslava Rosas and the first bronze in this sporting event was commissioned by Juan Pablo Rodríguez Ovando, all of them in canoeing

The Mexican team is made up of 376 athletes with 195 men and 181 women in athletics, judo, swimming, weightlifting, boating, taekwondo, table tennis, archery and triathlon, among other sports.
