Memphis Grizzlies make history with biggest NBA win ever: 152-79 | NBA

The Memphis Grizzlies crushed the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA on Thursday. The Grizzlies got off to a furious start against OKC, which had already lost 7 games in a row. At halftime it was already 72-36. Memphis continued on that momentum after halftime, tapping after four quarters for an insane 152-79 final score.

With that monster win, it beats the previous record win in the NBA, when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat in 1991 148-80. Years Jackson was good for 27 points at Memphis, no fewer than 9 players scored 10 or more points. In the West, the Grizzlies are currently 5th, OKC is third last.

“I didn’t know it was a record at the time,” said Memphis guard John Konchar, who set the record. “I just saw the space and I thought. But it’s great.” At Oklahoma the atmosphere was a bit less. “We didn’t fight,” said Mike Muscala. “I prefer to lose after a game with commitment and in which we played as a team, but unfortunately.”

Leading the way in the West, the Phoenix Suns continue to call the shots. Last year’s NBA finalist already registered an 18th win in a row against the Detroit Pistons, a club record. At halftime, the Suns still led comfortably, but a strong third quarter from the Pistons still brought tension. In the fourth quarter, Phoenix secured the 114-103 win.

Phoenix turntable Chris Paul sprinkled with 12 assists, Cameron Payne and Cameron Johnson each good for 19 points. The Suns narrowly lead in the Western Conference for MVP candidate Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors.
