“Manu” La Serna is the athlete of the year

Last Wednesday night the Sports Dinner and Awards were held, organized by the Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos de Catamarca.

On the occasion, the tennis player Juan Manuel La Serna was elected athlete of the year 2021, who this year among other achievements obtained a silver medal in doubles at the 1st Junior Pan American Sports Games, which were held in Cali and Valle; in addition to winning several tournaments in South America and Europe. His great sporting moment is also reflected in that in January he will play his first Junior Grand Slam in Australia.
The most important social event in the province of Catamarca was held in the Gastronomic Complex, in the Valle Viejo department.

It had more than 400 people, including athletes, leaders, special guests and sports journalists.
Among other awards that were awarded, the revelation of the year was for the Montmartre player Facundo Peralta (15 years old) for the great year of the “Cuervo” player.

The Olimpia award went to the historic farmer leader of the San Martín de El Bañado Club, Raúl Colombo.
Meanwhile, the event of the year 2021, at the discretion of the Circle of Sports Journalists, was for the “1st Vuelta del Valle”, the cycling competition that ran through the Central Valley of the province, with the organization of the Municipality of the Capital .
The night was accompanied by the local cuartero band Ta Kopao, who made everyone present dance in a beautiful evening, in addition to holding several raffles.

On the occasion of this new edition of its regular award ceremony, the “Círculo” had the support of the Sports Secretariat of the Province, through the Ministry of Social Development, the Union of Hotel and Gastronomic Workers of the Argentine Republic, the Undersecretariat of Sports of the Municipality of the Capital, the company Adhemar Capital, Ledian, Grupo Minero Qhuya, Municipality of Fray Mamerto Esquiú, Amaranta, Supercanal and Senator Maximiliano Brumec.
