The evident, shameful, grotesque and highly suspicious indolence of several Llaneros players in Magdalena’s second goal, that of 2-1 in the 96th minute, just one after having drawn, is already a major international scandal. They did not hide! The Union won, we all lost.

It all seemed like a crude pantomime, as did the subsequent emboldened and defiant statements by Eduardo Dávila, owner of the Unión, and Juan Carlos Trujillo, president of Llaneros, to the national press. They sounded a mockery even with the President of the Republic, whom they mentioned.

Today, football itself in the joint meeting of the Disciplinary and Championship commissions of the Dimayor should declare the rise of Magdalena on hold until it completes its serious, deep and swift investigation. It is the minimum, the decent, what is claimed.

It is not a minor detail that Llaneros has received public resources from the sponsorship of the Government of Meta: on the chest of his uniform it says ‘Aguardiente Llanero’. The departmental governor himself said he was “hurt” and “angry”, and like the whole country he demands an investigation to make “the determinations according to this episode.”

That this new scandal is not going to stay in that gaseous and simplistic limbo of ‘gamblers’, the easy way out to cover the smelly with dirt – like cats. And if there are, then the puppets that move (or do not move!) By their strings fall.
