Liverpool – Leeds United canceled: No Boxing Day for Jürgen Klopp – football

No boxing day for Jürgen Klopp (54)!

The Premier League canceled the games scheduled for Boxing Day between Liverpool and Leeds United and between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford FC on Thursday.

The reason: Corona outbreaks at Leeds and Watford. The league said: “The board has come to the conclusion that Leeds will not be able to play over the weekend due to Covid-19 cases, injuries and illness. In addition, the club’s training ground was closed. ”At Watford, too, there are too few professionals available.

This gives Klopp and Liverpool FC a (short) Christmas break. The game will not continue until December 28 at Leicester City (9 p.m.).

Six out of ten games had to be canceled on the last match day (18/19 December). The Premier League still wants to go through Boxing Day.

Liverpool already played in the League Cup against Leicester on Wednesday evening, but only prevailed there on penalties (3: 3, 5: 4 iE). In the semifinals of the competition, the Klopp team will meet Arsenal FC.
