A remarkable revelation by Hans Kraay Jr. in the Monday broadcast of Veronica Inside: meat magnate Herman van Drie would like to buy Feyenoord with two wealthy friends.
Kraay was last weekend with his wife in a restaurant in Noorden, near Nieuwkoop. “A man comes to me and says: believe me, I’m going to buy Feyenoord.”
According to Kraay, it concerns Herman van Drie, who is high in the Quote 500. He earned his money with the largest calf slaughterhouse in Europe and would – together with his two brothers – have a capital of 700 million euros.
Van Drie was already a member of the supervisory board of Feyenoord in 2019. He then resigned because of a difference of opinion. “He’s planning it with two friends,” says Kraay. “But I already regret that I said it.”
René van der Gijp only applauds it. “I would consider it positive if such a man did it. The club needs such a boost.” It is no secret that Feyenoord has been looking for investors for quite some time.
