Kidambi Srikanth jumps four spots to return to top ten in badminton rankings

New Delhi: Kedambi Srikanth of India took his historic silver at the World Championships, jumping four places to regain his place among the top ten in the world in the latest BWF rankings.

The 28-year-old from Guntor was rewarded for last place in Huelva, Spain, as he finished 10th in the standings.

Young Lakshya Sen, who also took bronze at the World Championship in his first season at the event, jumped two places to 17th, but P Sai Pranith slipped two places to take 18th.

HS Prannoy’s quarter-finals in Spain allowed him to improve six places to 26th.

In women’s singles, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu held steady in seventh place, while Saina Nehwal, who is recovering from multiple injuries, finished in 25th place.

The men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy dropped to 10th place, while Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy regained their place in the top 20 in women’s doubles.
