Judo Avilés, which had not finished according to the last Spanish School Championships, was redeemed in the Canary Islands with a great role in the Spanish Under-15 Cup in Tenerife. The team led by Carlos Fernández hung a total of five medals: two golds, two silver and one bronze.

Raquel Burgos managed to climb to the top of the podium at -52 kilos and Javier Simancas at -42. The silver went to Álvaro Simancas (-42) and Nel Suárez (-60), closing the medal table Marcos Menéndez, with a bronze at -42. This makes the male podium of the aforementioned weight eminently avilesino, with a curious fact. The final was played by twins Javier and Álvaro Simancas, the former continuing their recent great success in the Spanish Championship.

Although it is true that due to the covid, the influx to the Cup was less than in past editions, the truth is that Judo Avilés did not miss one of its traditional appointments on the calendar and did so with significant sporting success in these last blows of the year 2021.

Judo Sanfer was also active during the weekend, who traveled to Cantabria to participate in the IV Stage of Judo Suances, led by Nikoloz Sherazadishvili, Ana Pérez Box and Fran Garrigós, in charge of teaching the course this year. Niko, two-time world champion, is the best Spanish judoka in history. Ana was runner-up in the world in Budapest 2011 and Olympic in Tokyo and Fran managed to be European champion and world bronze this year 2021.
