Jorge Molina prevents Cádiz’s first triumph at home

Granada snatched its first home win from Cádiz thanks to a goal by Jorge Molina in the 88th minute to tie it at one, which left the people of Cádiz frozen, who saw victory close after the Paraguayan scored in the first half Santiago Arzamendia.

After this result, the Granada team is fifteenth with 16 points in the standings and Cádiz continues in relegation places with 13.

Cádiz came out with impetus, forcing three corners in the first five minutes that Granada solved without trouble.

A robbery by Antonio Puertas in the center of the field with a service to Colombian Luis Suárez was the first time for Granada, which was stopped by Argentine goalkeeper Jeremías Conan Ledesma (m.14). Cádiz replied with a shot from the front of the Honduran Anthony Lozano to which the Portuguese Luis Maximiano responded effectively (m.19).

Cádiz took control of the match thanks to a football with a bite, giving rhythm and speed to the game.

Once again, the Portuguese goalkeeper from Granada hit a hard shot by Uruguayan Luis Alfonso Espino (m.22). Cádiz forced half a dozen corners in the first half in a diaphanous push towards the visitor’s goal, showing the possibility of a goal more and more frequently. The people from Cádiz came forward with a shoe from Paraguayan Santiago Arzamendia from the front that, after touching a defender, he misled Maximiano (m.32).

From there until the break, the Cádiz team controlled the game, saving the goal that dominated the scoreboard as gold in cloth.

After the restart, Granada went out for all and the newcomer Ángel Montoro put Ledesma to the test (m.54). The people from Granada opened the field to look for Suárez and Jorge Molina from Alicante, who were roaming the local area, while Cádiz used themselves thoroughly to protect their goal.

Employing themselves with vigor, the local team, in great need of a victory to try to get out of the relegation places, hampered the creation of Granada, which did not enjoy more chances until the final stretch. In the 73rd minute, Colombian Carlos Bacca adjusted the ball to shoot low and Ledesma signed a good save. Antonio Puertas headed high a set piece served from the right (m.76).

Cádiz, sheltered in defense, could not prevent shortly after the end the goal of the Granada tie, achieved by Molina when solving a mess in the area after taking a corner kick (m.88).
