Inter Vs Liverpool due to Champions League re-draw, Zanetti Ikhlas

Milan

Inter Milan vice president, Javier Zanetti, doesn’t want to talk about the Champions League last 16 draw. He insisted Inter accept the result and are ready to face Liverpool.

The drawing took place at the UEFA headquarters, Nyon, Switzerland, Monday (12/13/2021). Inter as the runner-up in Group D was met with Ajax Amsterdam who won Group C.

However, the result of this draw had to be cancelled. This is due to a software error.

In the latest draw, Inter had to meet Liverpool as the winners of Group B. If you refer to the individual strengths of the players, meeting the Reds would certainly be harder for Inter than against Ajax.

Zanetti did not want to comment on the Champions League round of 16 draw again. He confirmed that his team was ready to face Liverpool.

“There is no point in commenting because everyone saw what happened,” Zanetti said as quoted by Football Italia.

“We accept what we got and we are ready to face Liverpool. They are a top club, but we are equal. Inter have a great history. We have a lot of time to prepare for the game and we will be ready.”

Inter Milan has not made it to the knockout stages of the Champions League for a very long time. The last time the Nerazzurri made it past the group stage was 10 years ago.

“It is a great satisfaction to play in the knock-out stages of the Champions League for the first time in ten years,” Zanetti revealed.

“Inter have missed it too long and are happy to be back. Liverpool are a top team, but we are Inter and we have to face them in the best way possible.”
