The Huarpe awards for sports excellence in Mendoza were awarded last night, after 14 years, at the Aconcagua Arena indoor stadium. In the Judo discipline Matías Diaz, Dionel Villar and Keyla Villarruel were triads.
On the night of Mendoza sports, there was recognition of around 47 outstanding athletes from Mendoza according to their disciplines. In addition to tributes to notable athletes of the last decade.
The event organized by the Círculo de Periodistas Deportivos de Mendoza and sponsored by the Undersecretariat of Sports and the Government of Mendoza, had 3 judocas from Malargüinos present.
Pablo Villarruel from the Municipal Judo School commented “Knowing that today there are three Malarguinos who may be representing our department, this really fills one with pride and even more knowing that it comes from the hand of judo. The truth is that the joy we have in our hearts is tremendous ”.
In addition, he added that nothing would have been achieved without the help of everyone, from the Municipality, the teachers, the parents and the Equilibro and Eros gyms that have opened the doors for free to train.
Likewise, the teacher indicated “these are boys who went to the Argentine Tournament, out of 9 boys, 6 were left on the podium. We never expect to have so many podiums in the Argentine Tournament, which is the highest level that our country has, which was also a very tough tournament and we can get ahead very gracefully ”.
The athlete Malargüino Matías Diaz, who obtained the title of Argentine Judo Champion, won the award in his discipline at the Huarpe awards.
“We really have tremendous joy and we want to share it with all of you because it is really very nice to be able to end the year after having had so many casualties that we have had, where friends and family and all the negative have left us, to be able to end this way It really is a blessing ”, concluded Villarruel.
