How to hit the ball in the middle of a laughing fit

It happened to us on Sunday in Arabia Saudi. We left through hole 10. We were going with David Law, Scottish player, his caddy, Guido Migliozzi, Alberto calvo, Guido’s caddy, and Mike Lorenzo Vera, my player. From 10 to 18 David Law hit two or three very bad drives, but very bad, one pull-hook, another push-slice … Anyway, things that happen, but they were rare hits …

We reached hole 2, our second round, and he hit the 3 wood from the tee, in a hole where normally everyone hits the driver. Nothing, we start walking and Mike hears David talking to his caddy about something about his driver breaking… Well, take Mike, he gets into the conversation between the two and says: «I’m sorry David, that’s how they have Those bad drives came out, of course, what has broken the driver’s face, right? »…

To which David responds: «no, no, what’s up, the driver is perfect. My face was broken on the practice field, but we were able to change it before going out to play… ».

Mike tells me about the conversation and, of course, I am very funny about the gaffe. We played hole 3 and got to hole 4. It’s a par 5, but we have to wait a bit for the game ahead.

Suddenly, I look at David Law and I see him with the driver in hand. More or less the guy endured, but my look at Mike and I say in French: “It is not broken.” And we both have a fit of deadly laughter. So much so that when Mike has to hit the drive he can’t. He has to get off the ball because he doesn’t stop laughing. To all that, David Law, who is a charming guy, was not making any fun of the situation, he ended up hitting him as best as Mike can and he gets a horrible push, there was no other option, he couldn’t hit him …

After the blow, as we were walking down the street, we both continued laughing and David approached us and said: “hey, what were you laughing at on the tee, what made you so funny? …”. And there I almost died … I couldn’t even breathe …
