Gianni Alemanno and the NBA: few would have bet that one day these two parallel lines would meet. The Facebook page of the famous US sports site theScore took care of it. In a post published at 4:49 Italian time, in the night between the first and second of December, we read: “The future of the NBA league. Gianni Alemanno wins the battle, despite LaMelo Ball having set his personal best in career with 36 points and 8 triples. ” The “Gianni Alemanno” the page editors wanted to refer to was Giannis Antetokounmpo, stella dei Milwaukee Bucks.

Gianni Alemanno becomes NBA star

The post comes directly from TheScore’s Facebook page, site and app that boasts over 4 million followers on the social network. The central theme was the challenge the Bucks had just won against the Charlotte Hornets by just two points, 127-125. The Greek basketball player Antenokounmpo goes beyond the opponent with 40 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. On the other hand, LaMelo Ball achieves a career record with 36 points, 9 assists and 8 triples.

As expected, Alemanno’s tag unleashed a flood of ironic comments. Among these we read: “From being the worst mayor in the history of Rome to dominating the NBA. Impressive.”; “Politician by day, NBA star by night. The great, unique and inimitable Gianni Alemanno”; “So Gianni Alemanno is the future of the League even if he is old and a politician?”
