Four gunmen invade Mark Cavendish: “A nightmare” | cycling

A few days after his heavy fall in ‘t Kuipke, Cavendish received an unwelcome visit at his home in Essex. He and his family were the victims of a brutal robbery in the early hours of November 27.

“Four armed and masked men broke into our home early in the morning while we were still asleep,” the British sprinter wrote on Instagram.

“They threatened my wife and children and attacked me. While restraining us with a knife, they ransacked our entire house. They took two expensive watches with a lot of sentimental value, among other things.”

“Much worse, we were also stripped of any sense of security, privacy and dignity that my young family and everyone else is entitled to in their own homes.”

“The effect of this nightmare on my family is heartbreakingly evident, so I beg anyone with information to contact law enforcement.”
