Aleksandrs Lazušins, one of the goalkeepers of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) club Riga “Dinamo” last season, will join the Admiral unit of Vladivostok, the league’s website has announced.

The “Admiral” unit is represented by Latvian strikers Miks Indrašis and Rihards Bukarts, but the head coach of the team is Leonīds Tambijevs. Not long ago, Beijing’s Kunlun Red Star broke its contract with Lazushin by mutual agreement.

Earlier, the Beijing Club applied to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for special permission for Lazushin to obtain Chinese citizenship for sports bypassing certain criteria, but was refused. As a result, the goalkeeper will not be able to play for China in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Lazushin started playing for the first time in the Kunlun Red Star team in the 2018/2019 season, but the club did not play continuously, which is a prerequisite for acquiring sports citizenship. Alexander has since tried his hand at several other clubs.

This season, Lazushin rebounded 91.3% of the lows in 15 matches in the Beijing club and conceded an average of 3.43 puck. In Riga, the Russian goalkeeper played in the 2020/2021 season, when in four matches he stood out with a lot of unsuccessful statistics – 86.6% of rebounds and 4.49 rebounds.
