The Christmas holidays are approaching and with them the end of 2021, and the Federal Council of the FIBS approved groups and calendars of Serie A and B baseball and A1 and A2 softball championships for the 2022 season.
Thanks to the repechage of Yankee San Giovanni in Persiceto in Serie B of baseball and of New Bologna in Serie A2 of softball, the Bolognese formations in the top “beat and run” championships increase. The start of the season is still far away, and the last few years have taught us to use caution towards the hypothetical groups and various regulations. To date, however, this is what has been decided, and at this link you can find all the groups and calendars decided in the Federal Council of the past season.
Baseball – Serie A
As for the first phase, the Fortitudo baseball was included in Group B together with Collecchio, Padua, Verona, Rovigo, Castellana and Ronchi dei Legionari. The other two Bolognese formations, Athletics e Longbridge, are instead inserted respectively in the Group D (with the two of Neptune, the two of Grosseto, Macerata and Paternò) and in Group C (with San Marino, Godo, Torre Pedrera, Crocetta, Sala Baganza, Modena and Rimini).
Softball – Serie A1 e A2
As for the A1 Series, the BlueGirls by Pianoro are inserted in a not simple Group A, together with the two formations of Bollate, the Saronno, the Collecchio and the Sestese.
In Serie A2 instead, it goes towards a derby, with Fortitudo softball and New Bologna included in Group B., together with Castionese, Lucca, Rovigo, Massa, Chieti and Macerata.
