Korean badminton women’s doubles signboards Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan (Incheon International Airport) took second place at the World Championships after losing to China.

In the women’s doubles final of the 2021 World Individual Badminton Championships held in Huelba, Spain on the 19th (local time), Sohee Lee and Seungchan Shin, ranked 4th in the world, failed to cross Libra and Zaipan. They lost to group 3 in the world by set score 0-2 (16-21 17-21).

Another international championship was canceled after the French Open last month. However, Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan defeated their teammates and rivals, Kim So-young (Incheon International Airport) – Gong Hee-yong (Jeonbuk Bank), 2nd place in the world rankings, 2-0 in the quarterfinals. Although he lost the bronze medal match at the Tokyo Olympics, he succeeded in swearing in succession to the semifinals of the Danish Open in October and the finals of the French Open in November.

However, Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan could not achieve their lust for Cheon Chi-cheon and Zaipan, who swear words to Korean players during the game. During the Tokyo Olympics group and semi-final match between Cheon Qingcheon and Zaipan, they caused a controversy by swearing at their opponents Kim So-young and Gong Hee-yong in Chinese. At the time of the group stage, it was explained that it was a problem with pronunciation, but in the quarterfinals, he used the same swear word and raised controversy. Libra and Zaipan ranked third in the world and did not win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Lee So-hee and Shin Seung-chan stood on the podium alongside Kim So-young and Gong Hee-yong, who tied for third place with a silver medal around their neck. Cheon Chi-cheon and Zaipan also took a commemorative photo with the Korean players with a smile.
