Exam weekend at the Judo Sportverein Bernau | Bernau LIVE – your city

Bernau / Barnim: Shortly before Christmas, the Bernauer Judo Club last Saturday again exams for the children and adolescents.

The idea for this was due to the long break in competition and the training ban associated with Covid-19.

The last weeks of the year were used by a total of 13 trainers in the three Bernau bases in Bernau, Zepernick and Schönow to prepare the children and young people for the exam. On Saturday, 61 girls and boys finally took the exam for the next higher kyu. The largest group was made up of the beginners aged 6 to 11 years (white belt) with 30 test subjects.

In order to be able to carry out the test day in accordance with the applicable regulations, tests were carried out on three mats at the same time – with a corresponding interval. Four examiners from the association, Jens Kazorke, Hendrik Krause, Hartmut Ott and Frank Opitz, were on duty. In order to reach the next higher Kyu level, the children and adolescents had to prove knowledge in five test complexes with throwing techniques, holding on, levering, transitions from standing to floor techniques as well as parts of a kata and the competition part.

Im Bernauer Judo Club 281 children, adolescents and adults are currently training.

Its history began in 1990 as the Police Sports Club Bernau eV (PSV Bernau). On October 6, 2014, the general assembly decided to rename PSV Bernau to Judo Sportverein Bernau eV (JSV Bernau). With the name change, the sport of judo should be brought into the focus of public awareness and a stronger independence should be demonstrated. From the beginning, the children and youth sport had a very high priority, so the association on its homepage. The original history of the club even goes back to 1956.

The JSV Bernau eV currently counts 281 active members (as of December 2021). All board members and active trainers and trainers work on a voluntary basis.
