Judo: Two starters, two placements: Judoka Lara Schulte and Melanie Klein from TuS Eichengrün Kamen returned from the 1st Rüschkamp Cup in Lünen with excellent success.
In the U18 age group, Lara Schulte started the district tournament in the -57 kg weight class with a defeat. After about a minute of fighting, she came into the grip of her opponent, from which she could no longer escape. However, she was not discouraged by this. Immediately in the following fight she pushed the disappointment and was able to defeat her opponent with a hold technique. So she deservedly achieved second place and could really look forward to the silver medal.
Melanie Klein was the only woman to compete in the -52 kg weight class on that day. So that the journey was not completely in vain for her, she quickly entered the next higher weight class -57 kg. There, too, no one could stop her and she resolved both encounters within a very short time. The first place and thus the gold medal were the deserved reward.
TuS Eichengrün Kamen is delighted with these successes of its athletes and warmly congratulates both judoka.
