The Chelsea goalkeeper won the Senegalese Ballon d’Or, awarded by Senegalese sports journalists following the votes of the latter and succeeds Sadio Mané. A plebiscite for the former porter of Rennes and Reims (321 points) ahead of Sadio Mané (99 points) and Ismaïla Sarr (61 points).
With this coronation, the Senegalese international goalkeeper puts an end to the reign without division of the number 10 of the Lions, winner in the last six editions.
The winners of the best sportsmen of the year were unveiled this Wednesday morning by the national association of the sports press (ANPS.) Edouard Mendy was rewarded by the Anps after a successful season at Chelsea. The Jules François Bocandé trophy which rewards the best footballers playing abroad is awarded this year to the Senegalese goalkeeper.
Edouard Mendy comes first with 321 points followed by Sadio Manè 99 points and Ismaila Sarr 61 points.
