Draw against PSIM Yogyakarta, PSMS Medan’s chances of getting to the semifinals of League 2 are getting tougher

Suara.com – PSMS Medan had to settle for being held to a goalless draw by PSIM Yogyakarta in the second match of Group Y in the last eight of Liga 2 at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium, Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Monday night.

In this match, both PSMS Medan and PSIM Yogyakarta played against each other but until the end of the match, neither team scored any goals.

In the first half, both teams played attacking, especially PSMS Medan which in the first match had to admit the advantage of North Sulawesi United 1-2.

PSMS Medan had a chance in the 8th minute, when it managed to create chaos in front of PSIM Yogyakarta’s goal, but there were no players who could break into the net from Imam Arief Fadillah.

Then it was PSMS Medan striker Ilham Fathoni’s turn to pose a threat to PSIM Yogyakarta’s goal, but his header in the 12th minute could still be secured by Imam Arief Fadillah.

PSIM Yogyakarta had a chance in the 34th minute when Ilhamul Irhaz fired a shot from outside the penalty box which goalkeeper Abdul Rohim couldn’t catch perfectly, but the ball was still secured and the score 0-0 for both teams lasted until halftime.

In the second half, PSMS Medan again took the initiative to attack and managed to create a chance in the 55th minute through Rahmad Hidayat, but his shot was still sideways on the right side of the PSIM Yogyakarta goal.

PSIM Yogyakarta had a chance when Sheva Maresca fired a shot from outside the penalty box in the 75th minute, but her shot was saved by PSMS Medan goalkeeper Abdul Rohim.

The two teams, both PSMS Medan and PSIM Yogyakarta, were unable to score a goal until the end of the match and in the end had to settle for sharing the points with one point each, as published by Antara.

This draw makes PSMS Medan still stuck in fourth position in Group Y standings with one point from two matches. This is a tough step for PSMS Medan to qualify for the semifinals of League 2.
