Coupe de France: Créteil qualified with panache

Vénissieux, leader of his Regional 1 group, must certainly have thought the blow playable at Duvauchelle this Saturday against US Créteil, humble 16th in the National and only three wins in the league so far. Unfortunately for them, the Cristoliens had chosen this afternoon to confirm the good feelings demonstrated at home in recent weeks. They qualified for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France thanks to this success. A first for ten years.

Too loose in their marking, the visitors deluded for a quarter of an hour, then capitulated to the Parisians, more bleeding and technically fair. Shy at the start, the National players are however a little scared during the first quarter of an hour. In the Cristolienne cage, Riffi Mandanda had to pull out all the stops to stop Guelbi’s double attempt (11th).

A double and a decisive pass for Araujo

Emmanuel Da Costa’s team responded without delay, however, with a center from Pembélé, very agitated this Saturday, that Pereira is not far from converting at the near post (15th). The nets will soon tremble: completely forgotten at the entrance to the area, left side, Araujo opens the scoring of a uncrossed recovery with the right foot, receiving a cross from the right, addressed by the essential Pembélé (1-0, 19th).

While the visitors wither away, Diarra, with a distant lobbed strike, comes close to making the break in favor of Créteil but Allapo, the opposing goalkeeper, manages to slam the ball above his bar in extremis (37th ). It is only a postponement and, shortly after the break, Araujo, 1.68 m, achieves the double, cutting with a small diving header at the near post the service from the right of Diarra (2-0, 54th) .

Mass is said at Duvauchelle but the Cristoliens are still hungry for goals. Top scorer for the Lusitanos with 5 league goals, Cheick Fantamady Diarra worsens the score, well found by Araujo in the area (3-0, 63rd), bringing his total of goals in the cup to three.

Incidentally, the Val-de-Marnais confirm a form of sovereignty regained at Duvauchelle, with a fourth victory in five home games (Boulogne 3-2, Le Red Star 1-0, Bastia Borgo 3-0 in the league and therefore Vénissieux this Saturday afternoon). May the draw this Sunday evening save US Créteil a trip to the round of 16.
