Christmas Market at the Builders

For the first time, the Bâtisseurs de La Tuque residence hosted a Christmas market within its walls.

Nine residents and four exhibitors from outside the residence displayed their creations at their booths. A beautiful holiday atmosphere reigned throughout the activity: even Santa Claus took the opportunity to visit the residents.

Canvas, Christmas cards, crafts, slippers, dolls, cakes, cookies, these are some examples of what was offered on site. The Lions Club, the Haut-Saint-Maurice Health Foundation and the Sutton group also presented their services via a kiosk.

Manon Côté, director of the residence, has the impression that other talents of the Builders will exhibit their works at the second Christmas market next year.

“From the moment this edition closes, it’s clear that next year, we did another,” she said.

We had a good turnout to the point where exhibitors sold everything quite early.

It is important to mention that all this was done with the greatest respect for sanitary measures.

The opportunity was great for visitors to discover the residence of the Builders through this Christmas market. The occupancy rate is currently 80%, but Ms. Côté indicates that there are still beautiful apartments.

The establishment, she recalls, offers a multitude of activities to residents, which makes it, according to her, a way of life.

“There is a lot of animation. We have bingo, yoga Pilates, movies, pocket baseball, military whist, 500, aquafitness. In summer, we have outdoor sports too. We have a great social life, people see each other a lot, ”summarizes Manon Côté.

The establishment of 125 residents employs 35 people.
