In addition to the current German champions and national squad athletes, there is also the opportunity to qualify for the DEM via so-called ranked tournaments. Christian has successfully followed this path.
There are several such tournaments spread over the year and the athlete receives ranking points depending on their placement. The best eight on this list are then qualified for the upcoming German championships. The first tournament took place a month ago in Munich, where Christian was able to show a balanced match record and achieved second place. The next tournament was in Lünen. As in Munich, Christian achieved a quick opening win. In the next round he met the eventual winner and got into the consolation round. Here the Attendorner fought his way up to 5th place.
With these two excellent placements and points collected, Christian is third in the overall ranking. This means that Christin can start next year at the German Championships in Stuttgart and represent the club colors of TV Attendorn on this national stage.
