Daianne Hayashida and Lucciana Pérez have been in charge of giving a new joy to the whole country. The pair got the second gold medal for the delegation of Peru in the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games. This Friday, the tennis players prevailed in the grand final of the women’s doubles.

The national team, made up of Hayashida and Pérez, beat (2-0) the Mexican duo of Julia García and María Martínez, with partials of 7-6 and 7-5 in a tight clash that took place this afternoon on court number 1 of the Cali Country Club Tennis Courts.

In this way, Daianne Hayashida and Lucciana Pérez confirmed why they are the best in the championship in this branch and modality. The Peruvians started their participation in the quarterfinals to beat the Chilean team 2-1 and in the semifinals they did the same against the Brazilians.

With this important victory, the Peruvian team already has two gold medals at the Cali 2021 Junior Pan American Games, which began on November 25 and will close on Sunday, December 5. The first gold medal was conquered by the athlete Sofía Mamani Arizapana in the 10,000 meter sprint.

In the general count, there are already 20 medals that Peruvians hung in this competition, including nine silver and nine bronze. The number will increase because Christopher Li and Lucciana Pérez will collide with Argentines Lautaro Midon and Luciana Moyano in the mixed doubles final and Ignacio Buse and Gonzalo Bueno against Argentines Juan Manuel La Serna and Lautaro Midon will play the definition of the men’s doubles.

Mary Luz Andía has given great news to the Peruvian delegation at the Pan American Games. This Friday, the athlete won the silver medal, after placing second in the women’s 20km athletic walking competition that she held at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium.

The discipline in which our compatriot participated began at seven in the morning, according to the official schedule. After an arduous task, the national athlete did a time of 1h. 35: 26.52 to complete the required objective.

Mary Luz Andía, who was in the last Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, was behind the Ecuadorian Glenda Morejón (she was also in the tournament in Japan) with a time of 1h 33: 54.16. While in third place was the Colombian Laura Chalarca with a time of 1h 35: 54.97.
