Brajkovic’s career best in the NCAA

In the 79:78 win against Alabama, the Vorarlberg driver contributed 22 points.

Luka Brajkovic from Vorarlberg made people sit up and take notice on Tuesday (local time) with a career best in the NCAA. He led Davidson with 22 points as the top scorer to a 79:78 at Alabama, the current number ten in US college basketball. Power Forward, who was named “Player of the Game”, also recorded seven rebounds, three assists and one steal and block in 31 minutes of play.

“That was the best victory of my career so far,” said the 22-year-old Feldkircher happily. With a long-range hit, he had also set the end point for his team. After the 79:69 with 2:01 minutes of play time, things got very tight again. Alabama even had a chance to equalize. “It was so close and it was definitely the best game I’ve ever played,” said Brajkovic.

The win over Alabama was the first for Davidson against a top 10 team since March Madness 2008. At that time, today’s NBA star Stephen Curry wore the dress of the Wildcats.
