Bergerac achieves the feat by exiting Metz in the 32nd of the Coupe de France

We quickly felt here, under the Perigord sun, that the fate of the two teams would be played on penalties, so much neither of them managed to get a clear opportunity in 90 minutes. And, in this lottery, it was Bergerac, resident of National 2, who trapped FC Metz (0-0, 5-4 at the tabs). All thanks to a stop by goalkeeper Pierre Laborde, on his right, on the second attempt in Lorraine, signed Pape Matar Sarr. The local shooters then did not tremble and Hicham M’Laab finally left the 3,500 spectators of the Gaston-Simounet stadium exulting.

Before that, during regulation time, the Bergeracois had been more cautious than expected, but the Messins, with a revised eleven while remaining very competitive, were not much more dangerous. An almost logical outcome, then.

This is the first time in its history that Bergerac Périgord FC has released an elite team in the Coupe de France. The adventure will continue in the round of 16, a stage of the competition already reached by the club in 2017 and 2019.
